The following is a fine woodworking instructable for a large do-it-yourself wooden picnic table. Step One: The two benches

Use m8 threaded rods in connecting the leg constructions. You will need a total of 24 rods each 16 cm and cut them once the table is complete. Using coach bolt will make it look even better. For other connections, you can use wood screws measuring 80 mm.

Step Two: The table

For the table legs, you have to cut a piece for every leg.

Step Three: Bolt it all together

The table legs should not be below the joining two by four. Horizontal connections need to be 50 mm off the floor so your picnic table won’t wobble when placed on an uneven floor.
